ok im gonna race this kid who talks so much sh*t about dsm's. he has a 91 civic hatch w/ a b16 swap in it. he has cam sprockets, spark plugs and wires, cold air intake, a kick on muffler. he also has coil overs w/ bad shocks. is car bouinces ALOT. he prolly has internals i think.

i have a 91 talon tsi awd A/T. w/ theses mods....2g manifold, cyclone intake manifold( it works), boost turned up to 17, hks 3'' down pipe( im running only down pipe), a 14b turbo, 2g elbow w/ UIC pipping, k&n air filter / hacked mas, and a 2.75'' intake piping, 91 talon 5 speed head w/ everything.

i have a feeling i might win, but this car runs pretty good. jus give me a out put on this future race.

john

Not sure what this has to do with engine performance (mods move this maybe? hangout..)

91 with B16 swap with those mods will run low 15 or 15.0 whoptie do. The auto talon with 17psi should be able to outrun that. Maybe not from a stop but once it's going it should I would think. If not then on the highway it may be different. The only thing that is killer is the launch.

Great engine preformance tips....

My g/f had a B16A from japan that only ran 14.8 for 3000.00 for install and buying of it. So yeah from a stop you win, unless you suck at driving.

Wow, plugs and wires? I wish my car came with those.

I wish mine came with internals too. I heard pistons are a good thing to have, something about the motor not working without them.

Whether or not you will win depends on how well your car is running. I have seen cars with your mods run 16's, and I have seen them run 13's.

you should take be able to take him, just powerbrake and he'll be seeing your taillights soon enough..........

I wouldn't doubt these little cars. A buddy of mine has a 90 civic hatchback w/ a B16. Basic bolt-ons, some cam work and so fourth. He ran a nid-12 all motor. Hooked up a nitrous kit and hit an 11.5. All this, stock internals and whatnot. The odds of you being beat are slim, I'm just saying be careful, there are some fast hondas out there.

Power to Weight ratio, its all about that, the 1g dsms weigh approx. as much as the new mustangs, damn civics are like go carts, stick 180 HP in a civic and they fly, we need as much as 300-350 to haul ass, it sucks we should be able to destroy those civics but its the way of the world i guess.

11.5 on B16 with bolt on mods that is stupid even 75nos not posible

i found out that this kid only had cam sprockets, no internals. my friend reminded me about that kids engine. he got the b16 from this guys integra. well, i remembered that last year i raced the integra and handed his ass to him and that was before i got most of my mods. but then again, that was also from a role. this hatch weighs 2200 lbs or somthing like that and that integra was about 3200 or 3500 or around there. and if i beat this integra w/ that b16 in it, i should at least beat the civic just about the same since i do have the mods now, right?

thanks,
john

11.5 in a hatch is hard to believe, he must have a really sick drivetrain setup. These guys I know ran a low 12 with slicks, ls/vtec turbo swapped hatch. Its hard to hookup and running an 11.5 is pretty crazy. My friend had a hard time not spinning slicks when he ran high 12's with his hatchback.

ok, i found out what this kid has in his hatch w/ the b16 swap. he has...
JDM gsr cam, Skunk 2 cam gears, AEM fuel rail, cold air intake, clutch master drag clutch...and hes getting DC headers and a V-AFC controller.

what u guys think? what u think hell run?

thanks john

Who cares?

Just race him and see what happens. Its not the end of the world if you win or lose. If you lose your car, or you, suck. In which case you need to improve your driving or your car. Bench racing is for ####ies who would rather talk about racing and get input so they can go into it with some sort of expectation, than actually just go out and race and have some fun.

It doesnt matter if you win or lose, the world will not end, your car will not mystically dissapear, and your friends will not like you less. Just go out and race. Do it in a safe place, and have fun.

I raced a civic hatchback with a b16 swap, it also had other mods i dont really remember itw as a year ago. Anyways... I had my 90gst the only mods were a k&n filter and a 2 1/2" downpipe. I beat him when everyone doubted it
Oh yea, I missed 2nd gear twice also if that counts OMG

Rob.

We all hear of fast Honda's but I have yet to meet one. I hang around a lot of people with fixed up Honda's as well, none of them are all that fast (the most modded ones being a turbo b16c eg hatch, turbo b16b eg hatch, and a nos'd gsr crx). Don't worry about racing him, you'll most likely win.

the biggest thing you can do to a honda is swap out the engine. then the real work comes into play when its time to work the internals either going n/a or forced. either way the engines have the "capability" i say that because alot of people fail to do so. i know many people who come by the shop and want to swap out an engine and thats all they realy end up doing. they want it quick and to sound quick as quick as they can for the less amount of money they can pay. i had a guy come in the other day saying how can i get my car faster for 300 dollars. i didnt know if he was joking or what. but b16 is 160 depending on what kind of trany he went with either way if your boosting good enough you should have him.

wow, thanks for everyones out put on this. as for Mo-Bo0st, i was never worried or anything. after my first post and i saw ppl's replys and i realize how retarded i was for thinkin if it was gonna be me losing the race. i never thought my car was going to "dissapear" out of no where if i would lose, or my friends wouldnt like me. so stop bashing what ever ever ur trying to do. if u dont got anything nice to say, then dont say it at all. plain and simple. come on man, it says so before u reply to a message....

Nobody likes bench-racing, either.

Moved to the Hangout where the bench-racers chill.

I have a great idea - why not just race the guy, then come back and just tell us who won? Why ask us if you'll win? We don't know how well you can drive, nor do we know exactly how modded each car is. Too many factors involved. That's why bench racing is frowned upon around here.

"What if I had this car, and some other guy had that car - would I win?"

RACE HIM AND FIND OUT!!!!! We don't know!!!!!!!!!!

If people say that he's probably gonna be faster, are you gonna decline to run? Are you trying to see if you should bet money? I don't get it... why ask this? I'm sorry, but all these "What If" questions are starting to get old. I'd rather see results - not make random guesses as to which car will be faster so that the person asking can feel better about their chances of winning.

Can we make a "Rule #7"? :)

If I were a betting man, I would say we had more bench racing than teeny-bopper relationship threads.

wow, it's always amusing to see the incorrect weight numbers get thrown around... of the cars i have seen mentioned here's the correct weights (the civic was the only mentioned correct one)

1G AWD = ~3100 lbs
hatch = ~2200
integra = ~2700
00+ rustangs = ~3500

Just race him dude...I can beat a '99 SI with more mods than the Civic your debating to race. Just race him and see what happens.

If the swapped hatch is not boosted, or on the juice, then you really have nothing to worry about. the fastest he can run with I/E/H is probaly mid 14s. Race him and find out, you lose then you lose(excuse for starting to modify your car more), if you win then you win.
