Center Bearing Had A Bolt Wrung Off

I had this single "click" when changing from Forward to Reverse - not a buncha clicks like a CV Joint... & not the low "clunk" you get on an AWD when you load the rear end - It was The MOTHER of ALL PITA's! I'd rather spend all day at a Dentist - $160 Milwaukee Close Quarters drill became my first Christmas present to myself - it's TOTAL HELL to get to... that Titanium Drill bit worked great - started off with a brand new spiral EZ-Out like a dumbass, IMMEDIATELY snapped that - for God's sake throw every spiral EZ Out you own away this morning, or give them to your worst enemy - My trusty 10 year old little "square" EZ Out saved the day - damn nub threaded right out easily of course.

Heh, I agree with you about those EZ-Outs. I think I've only had it work for me one time. If it snaps on you then you spend all day trying to get the snapped ez out out of the bolt. Now I just skip the EZ-Out and drill out the bolt and retap.

Are you talking about those made by Proto (and others later)which had a knife / chisel edge forged into each corner?

Cheers,

Exactly - the spiral 'EZ-OUTS" were part of an insiduous Commie plot...

Communism was defeated of course by the edge we held via our vastly superior American Duct Tape - those Red rat bastards couldn't hang with us...
