1G-specific Few ?'s about stock 1G Dsms

On the car description it says 195 hp. So i was wondering what boost that was set at.... When i got my car used it had the boost at 7. so is it 195 at 7 or 14 which i run now.... I also wondered what size fuel injectors are in the stock 1g talons (1991). Also, if i were putting in a big 16g turbo (eventually) in my car what size injectors are reccomended and what is the cheapest but most efficient Intercooler to put in? Thanks for any responces....

Well, most people who put REAL boost gauges in their cars have mentioned that factory boost is anywhere from 9-11. So it would be 195 hp, or 210 hp @ 9 or 11 PSI. its hard to say what your specific car does.

Stock injector Size is 440cc i believe.

If you plan on going to a 16g, and keep going with it, the popular path is to buy some 550cc injectors, a walbro 255 fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator (for 255's, 190's dont need one) and thats about it.

I currently have a HRC Super 16G, 550cc inj. and a walbro 255...which seems to be a common setup.

you could stick the 16g in if you want, and run low boost. otherwise, you're going to experience fuel cut and other nasty things, because your fuel system isnt dumping what the car wants. be careful.

Stock fuel injectors are 450cc's...a 16G should run great with 550's a bigger pump...at least IMO a 190 LPH...3 Inch Exhaust System...and some sort of way to make...the ECU know you have 550's...and AFC or some sort of Piggy back or if you really wanna a stand alone...oh and a Datalogger...just so you know what you are doing you know??...

Just make sure you have some basics first...Intake Exhaust Aftermarket Boost Gauge and an EGT for the love of GOD get an EGT Gauge please??

EGT gauge..That would be engine temperature correct?

Why is this so highly needed? I've got the A/G gauge and boost gauge, and i thought that these were the 2 highly needed gauges. Never knew an aftermarket egt gauge was needed?

You are right the boost gauge and an A/F meter are important...but with DSM's the A/F gauge isnt the most accurate way of telling exactly what is going on inside that 4G63 of yours...An EGT will accurately display your A/F Ratio and let you know if you are starving your motor, or running super rich...I have both the A/F and the EGT...There are lots of FAQ's and posts about EGT's in reference to DSM's...I think you should take a look and see what there is...I mean a $200 Gauge vs. a $5000 motor...

So you can tell when shit's about to hit the fan. usually around 1600-1700 deg F.

a pocket logger is another good engine minder. log knock counts and timing.
