Because 99 percent of the time it doesnt start to move up till i hit the gas. Theres been a few times where iv started the car though and the needles was at that middle spot instantly and during idle. Any advice would be great.

it is usually going to be low when u are at idle, the reason it is up higher when it is cold is because it make the oil thicker and the car idles higher when it is cold, until it reaches operating temp, i would recomend getting an aftermarket gauge if you are still worried about it though

i think autometers is like 20 bucks

Im sorry I should have been more specific....ever since I bought the car; at idle the oil pressure is really really low, sometimes the oil light flickers. It also would idle kinda choppy sometimes. Now that its cold out my car has taken two turns to start. And it will run like crap for like a minute until the engine gets warm. Well theres been like 3 times out of like 50 starts where i turn the car on and it starts in a bang and the oil pressure needle is in the middle point and the car idles better and drives perfect instantly. I dont know if I actually have bad oil pressure or what but im guessing it might be the reason my engine doesnt start running good instantly after turning the key in the winter. The bad start and choppy driving for first minute has only been in the winter. The idle being a tad choppy is warm or cold though. I also heard that bad oil pressure can take out the whole engine if its really bad and is why im looking into this.

yes bad oil pressure can damage and engine, buy and aftermarket gauge, if it is between 16-20 psi at idle AFTER it reaches operating temp u are fine
you are sure ur oil is at the right level right? are u using the right weight of oil?

oh and i think all cars run like crap until they reach operating temp in the winter, i do not drive mine unless it has warmed up for at least 5 minutes,

if your oil pressure is low after u get the gauge i would look into getting a new oil pump, if you need one pm me i can get oem parts at a smokin deal(just check your local places first and i will tell u what i can get it for)

I changed my oil with what the autozone guy told me to use....it was either 10-30 or 5-30. I will look into getting an aftermarket gauge then...thanks. Also I would like to note that when i bought the car all the mods on it were already done. Including the tuning of the s-afc...so i was wondering if bad tuning on the afc could make my car run bad....? I dono just a thought out of a clueless dsmer....anyways I will looking into that gauge.
