AWD downpipe -> FWD car???

Simple question...will a 1g AWD downpipe fit a 1g FWD? If not, why? I assume they'd have the same basic exhaust setup, at least before the cat. Help, cause I need to order one ASAP.

No they are differnt. First thing, the AWD DP is pretty dam close to being straight. where the FWD guys (myself included) have to put up with these dam stupid bends everywhere. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Just look for a cheap 1G fwd setup. The link Is from RRE and has some descent prices. There is also Buschur/ rnr/ apex (dont know if they make one for a 1G or not) and look in the classifieds/ local DSMers. I am sure you can get a descent price.

I have a mofugas (GVR4) dp on my FWD. It fits, it's just that the flange for the cat converter is offset, just cut the flange and re-weld it so it lines up to the cat.

Damn...thanks for that info. RRE doesn't have anything for a 1g FWD. A lot of companies don't (other than RnR really) so that's why I was trying to weasel around it.

crap, I never have noticed that. ummmm... No wonder my friend had a problem with his? He had a 1G fwd and wondered why it didnt fit. I was nervious when I got mine but after seeing the bends I know mine was a FWD version (but again Im a 2G so..).

Have you happened to find a 1G fwd piece you liked? I still think the downpipe/testpipe was the 2nd biggest power mod I have made to my car yet, next to the BT28/2.5" o2 housing w ext dump/ injectors. Hope you find what you are looking for, I am sure you will be happy.
