hey guys,
i'm gearing up to do my exhaust install tomorrow for my 1997 talon tsi FWD. anywho.. are there any tricks, suggestions, comments for me to consider [ i.e., how to get the exhaust over the axle? ] ; or is it a straight forward installation? it looks easy enough, but who knows ? :thumb:

thanks in advance

I did this recently. I removed the stock exhaust with pretty easy with a jack. A few of the bolts snapped and I just used a screw driver and some pulling the exhaust to get them out. Then I got tired of dealing with the exhaust over the axle so I cut it before and after. BTW I didn't unbolt any of the exhaust just the exhaust from the hangers. Reason being my bolts looked like poop. Then I got fed up with trying to put the new exhaust in the hangers so I found someone with a lift. It was a drive on setup and we had to use some blocks so the lift arms didn't hit my side skirts. We got it up and then started sliding in the pieces in the hangers then bolting them lightly to the piece before them. I left things loose until then end so I could adjust something if it didn't fit right. My pipe was 3 inch so the back axle wasn't fun. We pulled and pushed and finally wiggled it in there. Other then that it was a great install. If you have any problems message me and I'll try to get more detailed. Goodluck!

On a lift it be easier to do.. That is how I did mine everything is visible and easier to get to.. Idk about doing it on the ground with jack stands because its a pain in the ass taking it out and putting the new one back in we did this on my bros car.. I would call a buddy if I were you to help out either method you choose to go with.. The hardest part is angleing the cannon and the pipe over the axle your gonna have to jack the rear end pretty high if you dont want to scratch it.. On a lift there is nada to worry about from what I experienced.. Good luck
