I didn't win anything but what a trip. I started working on my car a week before the show trying to install a external wastegate and other projects to make the car look better. Dummy me thought that the external wastegate just bolted right up. Man was I stupid on that one. I ended up ordering a evoIII manifold because mine was cracked and I was gonna have slowboy weld the flange on for me and come to find out they couldn't get to it in time. I ended up having the manifold and the flange shipped 2 day air and got it cut and welded the night before I left for the show. I cut it close on that one. During the week while I was waiting on the parts I moved my battery to the trunk, rewired my fuel pump, Fixed my grill mess from a stick incident on the interstate, and fabed a intake pipe. got it all done thursday night and I was leaving the next day. You all know that when you do more than on mod your gonna get a bug or 2. I also made a manual boost controller. Me and my wife were going down the interstate and she was driving, I heard her spool and let the wastegate open and I looked at the boost gauge and it said 17psi right where I set it. I was pretty happy about this until an hour down the road I herad her kick it again and I saw 18psi, I thought no big deal I'll just fix it later. A little farther down the road it read 20, this is when I got a little concerned so I told her to watch the boost and not let it get above 15psi if she could. Next thing I know I hear her kick it and the wastegate didn't open so I looked at the gauge and it peaked at 25psi. I about sh!t a brick. I got her to pull over at the next gas station and I jerked the boost controller off. Next we had to stop farther down the road to streach our legs and we tryed to start the car and I just quit getting power. it took a while but I found out that the gounding bolt I used backed out and lost conection. After I finnaly made it and got to the show the next day I was leaving the show when my oil peassure gauge dropped and I all of a sudden started hearing a knocking noise. I really thought the worst because I was hard on it that morning. Come to find out a strand had broke on the a\c belt and was slapping the timing cover and knocked the wire to the oil pressure gauge off. I cut the belt off and hooked the wire back up and went on. Got back home to my shop monday morning about 1am and couldn't find my key so I had to break in. I was picking the lock when out of the corner of my eye I see our local pigs stopping to investigate since nobody goes into a shop at 1 in the morning unless there stealing something. Luckaly I picked the lock right before he could see that I was breaking into my own shop.:shhh: so I didn't have to explain myself. It's a long story but I thought someone might get some laugh out of it.:D It was a agervating but fun weekend.:thumb:
