Got 99 problems and my engine leaks oil from the cylinder head

IF it is leaking on the belt side than it is valve cover, cam seals, or a galley plug. The head gasket wouldn't cause oil to leak there because there is no oil passages over there. As far as exactly where it is leaking, that is up to you to find. You will need to pull the timing cover and check it out.

its near were the turbo manifold is bolted up in that corner next to the timing belt lookis like were the head meets the block or whatever?

I mean I cant seem to get this thing tuned right oil is leaking from two different spots cam seal near the timing belt and now from the head like 6 hours worth of work plus about $500-1000 worth of parts timing belts tensioners water pumps head gasket n seals its my Daily driver and only car right now, I think oil leak # 1 is comming from the stud nearest the timming belt

Replace those cam seals man!! & the VC gasket while your at it.
They may be minor, but can cause some serious problems down the road.

Might want to work on the grammar a bit also.

Look Grammar is the least of my worries right now, I am trying to figure out if I should just sell the car.
My car does not need a vc gasket i just replaced it a month ago its leaking form under the manifold best way to describe were the leak is is behind the were the stearing pump motor is

If an oil leak is making you question selling the car or not then picking up a dsm as a DD was a bad choice for you in the first place. You need to pinpoint the leak and replace whichever seal is leaking.

You sure the exhaust valve seals aren't leaking? Is the oil coming out just under the exhaust ports? Does it smoke at all?
The drain hole for the valve cover it there too. Is the oil in the spark plug area of the valve cover or and cracked bolt holes?

your probably right ive only replaced the turbo, ecu, tcu,Iac, then had to do the end clutchs, the valve body, and the sylanoids oh the transmission sucked , not to mention the door handles broke off and every other little thing that added up to around $5000 that I cannot think of , and its not one oil leak its 2 and in places that I've never been (bottom of the engine and the middle of the engine), I dont know anything about timing these cars, what I do know is that you cant be off on the timing at all and I dont want to screw anything up.

The oil is were the bottom of the cylinder head bolts up to the block I dont really know what to call it but it appears to be where one of the studs would be when mounting the cylinder heads

The entire front side of the block is soaked with oil on my Talon, starting at the water pipe down - and I have replaced the valve cover gasket! I also have oil around the thermostat housing. Did you replace the valve cover gasket? That is what makes the most sense in your situation. I'm guessing mine is due to the oil galley behind that one exhaust manifold stud, but it looks I probably have more than one leak... but I've grown tired of trying to find them at this point.

Ludachris we have the same problem valve cover gasket is fine no leaks and I just replaced it, mine is comming from that stud too check the picture out, I put a arrow pointing towards the corner where the leak is

I'm staring to get worn out too man, sad part about it is I haven't even got to feel the full potential of my ride big 16g setup but dont know how to fully tune :/ o well Idk if I should keep the car and get it fixed or not I got no people up in this area to help me figure things out, no dyno no tune shops nada man!!!

That's the thing, I don't know that mine is ONLY coming from the stud, I don't see how it could be. I used some high temp thread sealant when I put on the Evo3 manifold. And I replaced the valve cover gasket at the same time. Yet, I have oil build up all around the exhaust manifold, the water pipe, all down the front of the block, around the thermostat housing, etc. Can't imagine that galley would cause that much of a mess.

It looks like it might be causing your issue though. Use the high temp thread sealant others have mentioned. It worked well on my GSX.

This is the GSX nightmare the infamous oil leaks from everywhere did you tighten everything down to spec, I read somewere that if you tightin the studs to hard it can crack things , also I had alot of build up when I changed the turbo seems common I wonder why??

As for that sealant only true way to use it is too take of the head right?

No you don't have to pull the head. It's the exhaust manifold stud. Pull your manifold, remove the stud, apply the sealant and put the stud back in and reinstall the manifold, etc.

u sure about that even thought its comming from the flat surface of the head?
Sorry, I thought you were talking about putting sealant on the stud to stop the oil leak from the oil galley in the head. I can't think of how it would be leaking where the head meets the block. I don't know. If that's where you're seeing it, I would start looking at cam seals leaking, causing the oil to seep down and spread along that line. Seems more likely than having oil come out from between the block and the head wouldn't it? You could probably pull the upper timing belt cover and look down inside there with a flashlight to check.

Lets see If I can explain.

First pic is of the exhaust side and head gasket surface.

Front of the head is to the right, cam gear side.

That lowest bottom right stud is in a "blind hole" No oil or coolant touches the stud.
The only way that would happen would be if someone drilled too far to remove a broken stud or install a heli-coil.

A small drill bit or allen wrench will hit the bottom of the hole.

The only exhaust stud that is exposed to oil on the back, is the bottom center. It is open into an oil return port, this is the one that needs sealant.

If you have done a BSE, check to make sure the plug in the front case for the front BS is not leaking.

Fix that ASAP... I bought my Eclipse in August and was starting with some general stuff and realized an oil leak. I'm friends with the guy that I bought the car from and he never mentioned anything about an oil leak so stupid me thought that it was a fairly recent problem... It wasn't. Oil saturated my balance shaft belt which then proceeded to snap off my crank shaft position sensor which then led me to my timing belt that was soaked in oil... It was not pretty.

I know I love my car so hopefully you can get it up and running without too much trouble too.

Okay So i was looking at the car and I thought the oil was dripping on the black but it appears to be smoke only no actual oil there is a lil saturation as described earlier but this is more of a mani problem I think what do you guys think?
