AWD vs. FWD wheel hubs

I'm gonna be trying to buy some wheel hubs with the bearing installed and I was wondering if there was a difference between the FWD and AWD ones. Thanks!

For the 1g's, the fronts are all the same. The rear bearings are different.

There's ABS and non-ABS front hubs for 1Gs.

He's right the bearing is the same but the hub itself is different. I would imagine you could run an ABS hub on a non ABS car but not the other way around. The axles do not have the ABS trigger on them.

Sorry I meant to say bearings, not hubs. You can use ABS hubs on a NON ABS car, but not the other way around.

Im running a non abs hub and my car came with abs. Thing is, I ripped out my abs.

Because of the design of the 1g hub/bearing setup, you can't replace the whole assembly as a complete unit. That's why you can't find them anywhere, they don't exist.

If you were closer I'd press the old ones out, and the new ones in for you. Buy a press at harbor freight. You'll be surprised how quickly they pay for themselves, especially owning a Dsm.

Lol, thanks for the consideration. I might buy one later on. I've got 100 more drivetrain issues too. Wheel bearings is just the most annoying one.

So your saying the awd hubs for the front are the same as the fwd? Bearings and all?
