Time to choose a radiator and I need your help!
I have made up my mind I'm am ordering a radiator tonight! My HP goal is 350-400 max hp. I'm in 120 degree weather. I am going to be using after maket fans as well with shrouds. What radiator would you recommend?

mishimoto makes a nice drop in alum radiator that you can get a prefit shroud with 2 slim fans.
maperformance.com often runs specials on all the mishimoto line of products so take a look in the vendor special page or pm nate from map to see if he can hook you up.

I would much rather have the Mishimoto over the CXracing radiator. However money was tight at the time and I had a hole in My stock raditator and needed one quick! I ended up with the CXracing one from eBay. All in all it's a pretty well constructed radiator and the price was appealing to me as it was 40-50 dollars cheaper then a stock replacement! Anyhow the point I'm trying to make is, one problem I personally ran into was cooling fan placement. My stock fan was too big and I didn't have the cash at the time for a slim fan. I ended up one day deciding to just fill the radiator and take the car for a drive. To my surprise this radiator kept my temp level lower then normal range after a full hour of driving and while idling it moved to normal and never went higher than that. It's a pretty decent radiator if you need one I would reccomend it to anyone!

MAPerformance Mishimoto parts for DSM
ive used a cx racing radiator on a different car and had it start weeping from the edges after about a month.
may have gotten a bad one but im not the kind of guy to try buying a cheap product twice and hope its good. personally i would rather spend a couple extra bucks to support out vendors and get a product with a lifetime warranty even if the car is in an accident.

If have an auto trans might as well get a tranny cooler too so don't have to worry about those lines running through the radiator and well keep your trans from getting to hot lol.

In Phoenix? 80/20 + additive, IMO. I ran 80/20 and we get below freezing.
If you get a shrouded kit from a vendor, note that the slim fans most come with are anemic. Invest in good fans, or trim the OEM shrouds to fit.

I decided upon feedback from this and other threads to go with the cxracing radiator with 2 12in slim fits and shroud for $270. It will be here Friday and I have very high hopes it will solve my overheating problem. If it doesn't the next step is ducting and an evo style hood and maybe cut into my bumper.
I will also be running 70water/30coolant and may consider the additive but I've never had any luck with any type of additive in the past....

I agree. I think they make a good radiator. Get some good fans.

Well it is already on it's way. I have heard really good things about this radiator but not so much on the fans. I will see how they hold up and if they don't then I will order better ones. Can anyone tell me how to monitor my engine temp to the degree?

If you want a radiator for looks and status that's fine but i live in nebraska where it's been 100 steadily for the last 2 months, (indexes are higher and humidy is terrible) and what makes a cooling system work aside from proper filling and burping is the STOCK fans, i've been there and done that on every other thing to try and i'm back to both stock fans and radiator never get over 195 in NORMAL driving with the AC on (sometimes might tough 200 if i don't turn fans on in time, they're on toggle) and i run a 180* t-stat... my normal temps on a 90* day are about 178-185* until i'm at a light or getting on it hard and go up to maybe 210 range on a really hard 1-4 pull... the oem fans cool best because thye are shrouded, slim fans onlu pull from less than half the radiator becayse they don't pull in the center where they have no blade area and thy don't pull through where the corners of the radiator are
i make 482 reliably, blew trans at 522 on dyno a month ago, and i don't have cooling issues, so think about those things before thinking you 'need" a aluminum radiator, they just make it harder oto fit fans and turbos IMO, I run an HX40/35 hybrid on t3 manifold and it clears perfect

what turbo and manifold? my CX aluminum rad is now on a friends broken down GST ebcause it wouldn't fit back with stock fans on a tnetics manifold and t3/to4e 57 trim wihtout slim lines on it.. but maybe stock manifold and such makes a change, but i went t3 before i had 30k miles on my car, and stand alone at 24k miles

Does spal make a shroud for the 2g? And how do you feel about the Flex-a-Lite fans/shroud?
Don't care much for my current set up but needed to get something fast was looking at the FAL.

I'm using a Mizu with 2 12" China fans and I'm suffering pretty damn bad!
I'm seeing 200*+ at 70ish* weather just crusing. I'll probably have to look into that Flex-a-Lite solution.

There is an oil cooler on the 1Ga (90-91) and a loop for the power steering, and the AC condenser goes there too. I extended the lines for the oil cooler and put it on the drivers side vent, got rid of power steering (although you can just move the loop) and never had AC. You can keep the AC with a FMIC and a Scirocco rad.
http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h3...1-06114429.jpg
The rad is installed in that picture. That was more to show how the a/w fits in there. With a 2G manifold and B16g the closest the turbo gets to the radiator is about 7" Doesn't seem like a lot, but measure it in stock format. I wouldn't have it any other way.
