Cams?

Based on the type of cams you picked, I'm assuming this is your DD. I would go with the gsc's. Have heard nothing but good things, are great street cams, and you don't lose bottom end like you do with larger cams. Just my .02.

When deciding cams, its usually based off the power goal and turbo.

According to our profile, you have a a stock 2g, t-25 turbo. It can be maxed out with stock cams.

I would focus on uprading the turbo to a 14b (16g with the right supporting mods), stock cams have been proven to support up to or around 375.

As far as cam choice at that point, I would go with a set of gsc s1, I run them and love them. They should be the stock cams in all 4g63.

Yes, it's my DD, I just finished the intake, and whatnot. I had to rip apart the cooling system, and give it a good cleaning last night. Lots of nasty build up of I don't what. I ran the car pretty hard yesterday, a bunch of my DSM buddies around town held a meet, and we went and terrorized the town, mostly back country roads. But anyways, I'm just looking for a noticeable gain, and a nice idle sound.

Like I've stated before, i'm not building a 12 or even 10 second car, just enough to keep up with these higher class sports cars.

Does anyone have an idea of why the GSC s1's are so much more? Is it due to the others being regrinds? I'd love to have me a set of GSC s1's but daaaaaaammmn

GSC s1's are regrinds of factory NEW cams unless im mistaken. I know they have a service where you can send your cams in to be reground to the s1's or s2's unless its changed recently.

And most likely its more expensive due to the fact that it outperforms a lot of the other cams. Not saying all of them but its up there.

Thew only thing with the gsc cams tho. Were last timeI checked, no matter which ones you chose, they were all the same price.

Op if oyu do not go with gsc cams.On a dd go under 272 like 264 or 268 like the last 2 links.

But again the gsc cams are great even for a t25.But I would still go with a 14b.

GSC Power-Division S1 cams for the Mitsu Evo 1-3 and first and second Gen DSM cars. The S1 cams are designed for those running a small 16G or large 16G turbo. These cams will not sacrifice any bottom end loss over stock cams; nothing but gains and will promote faster spooling of the turbo. Gains of 15-25whp (depending on Turbo) have been seen by simply bolting the S1 cams in. Designed for a rev range of 3000-8000rpms, these cams work well on the stock valve springs. 250-400whp camshaft.

Idle is slightly rougher than Stock

This was S1,listed as a 268. http://www.power-division.com/product.php?productid=16144&cat=297&page=1

I got GSC s2's for my FP Green HTA. Pulls very nicely with more room to grow.
Im happy i went with the S2 instead of S1 just knowing i will never have to buy cams again. Dont get me wrong you can still make great power with the S1's but think about your future with the car.

To keep up with high class sport cars .What cars are you referring to?

Corvette's, skylines, supras. There is a supra around town here, that I want to kill. But I understand there will always be someone with a faster car. Lol.

I don't know anything about them, but the price is unbeatable:

Mitsubishi/DSM Camshafts - Camshafts - Clearance

Bought a set for my 16G-powered GSX when I finally get the engine together. Make sure you pay attention to the cam profile of the intake versus the exhaust during installation- both cams are slotted and drilled for the cam angle sensor, and mine weren't marked as to which was the intake and exhaust.
