my tensioner pulley (the one thats on the belt that connects to the power steering pump) went bad so i need it replaced. i know how to do the work myself, the only problem is finding the right size. i tried both autozone and orielly's and both places the pully was too big to fit. its a 1995 rs

this is the only one i can think of that it could be, correct me anyone if i'm wrong

^ No, sorry that is not the right one, the pulley he is looking for will be either Dealership, Autoyard, DSMGRAVEYARD, Millerimportparts.com, or something of that nature. A vendor.

My question is that the Power Steering pump's pulley does NOT go out, it is solid pulley? If you have shaft play, then a new pump/rebuild is the ONLY way to fix it. The only other pulley is the "belt tensioner pulley" that has a bearing that goes bad...

you are right that pulley is connected to the pump doesn't go out and if it does it's time for a new pump as he said.

are you referring to the belt tensioner right below the power steering pump pulley? a chrome colored one? (mine is chrome colored)

im saying the pulley because when i turn the wheel all the way to the right or left it starts squeeling, the pulley stops but the belt is still moving across the pulley. would this be a power steering pump problem or just a new belt?

This just means that the belt is a little loose. There is more load put on the belt when you turn the wheel all the way to one side or the other.

It's not the tensioner if it only squeals when you turn the wheels to the side. That is the belt slipping on the power steering pulley. IF the bearing in the tensioner is bad is will make a noise all the time.
