So this Daily driver i have is just a pain and runs off hopes and dreams.. i replaced the whole motor and trans and a bunch of other stuff..

Anyway i was looking at the fuse box today and popped it and noticed, they're isn't a 100A fuse..

I thought without this fuse, the car wouldn't run??

Any light on this? Ive been driving my car for 3000 miles since motor swap like this.. What does the fuse do? and how is it possible I'm driving without one?

I am pretty sure there is no fuse. I would have to look at my setup, but I know of 3 fuses off the battery. IGN, Fans and something else ( cant think of off the top of my head) but one is a 20a and the other 2 are 30a fuses. I Believe the alt is ran without a fuse to the battery and is internally fused or has an internal breaker of some kind.

2g Electrical FSM much?

You only learn and remember by doing; just dig through the electrical FSM pertaining to whichever 2g this is and start chasing wires! :thumb:

If you are talking about the 100A Alt/Choke fuse next to the 60A fuse(+b) then yes there should be one there.

That 100Amp Alt fuse is actually bolted in via 2 wires and bolts. I remember when mine blew to to water getting in my box it would not start.

I just realized it but the 2ga Electrical FSM does not have the pages showing the charging system, in this case you'll just have to refer to the 2gb FSM and find the info.

*cough* page 100 *cough*

Sell the car. LOL

Here is a breakdown of the charging system Barney style, the electrical FSM can be a bit confusing if you haven't spent some time looking at wiring diagrams. This, hopefully, isn't as confusing since it shows all the parts/wiring in the entire circuit. Its a .pdf format though so you'll have to have Adobe to see it.

You can see the generator (alternator) WHT wires going to the engine compartment relay box (fusebox) to a 100A fuse, then to the battery. So, what that's showing you is, you either have one of two things going on here if you don't have a 100A fuse there. Either the previous owner hardwired the battery to the alternator like a dumbass or somewhere between the alternator and the battery wiring they installed an aftermarket fuse... somewhere being the big question mark here.

If you could take a picture of the engine bay I'd appreciate it.
