Hi All,

I have a 91 Talon TSi AWD A/T

I finishing my rebuild and am connecting up all the plumbing and stuff. I'm doing coolant lines right now and seem to have ran into an extra unknown port on my thermostat housing that I don't know what it goes to. Below is a picture. There are two left over ports on the housing. One goes to the blue pipe that leads to the oil filter housing cooler. The other one I have no idea what it goes to.

I have the one of the radiator neck pipe above the thermostat housing connected to my turbo cooler line. The one in the back of the thermostat housing goes to one of the ports on the throttle body. The other throttle body port goes to the port on the small coolant pipe that is connected to the large coolant pipe. The return oil filter housing cooler port goes to the port on the big coolant pipe next to the water pump. So I'm at a lost as to what is not connected.

I have all the emissions devices off the car and no AC. Also there seems to be three temperature sensors. One on the radiator neck with two prongs perpendicular to each other. An identical one on the thermostat housing and a third one with a plug type connector on the bottom of the radiator. I also don't see a plug to reach or go into the radiator one. I have the flat wire connectors for the two prong ones but not use what one to use?

Thanks!

I have the one of the radiator neck pipe above the thermostat housing connected to my turbo cooler line.... That one is for your overflow tank.. and the turbo feed should be connecting to one of those lower one for sure. Off the top of my head i cant remember which one. I'll step outside take a look at mine and get rite back to you!

LOL I just realized that too. :ohdamn: I don't have my reservoir installed right now so I didn't think about it. So that makes since. But yha if you could tell me witch of the two to use for the turbo that would be great.

Thanks!

Like stated above, the turbo coolant feed location is one of the two you have pictured, the one on the left to be exact. The other is for your oil cooler.

Then you can do away with #2 and plug it with a 3/8" BSPT pipe plug. This is the same size/thread as one of the big allen plugs in our OFHs. If you want to get a new one to clean up the area, MD145018 from your local Mitsubishi dealer or many of the supporting vendors. Hopefully the diagram above explains to you what those sensors are.

The connector for the sensor on the radiator is in the engine compartment harness (check around the connector for your overflow reservoir or passenger side fan, it will be close by), not the engine control harness like those on the thermostat housing.
