It varies car to car. 210 at the crank is what it is rated for.

As long as its tuned correctly it will take some abuse. The only thing you should really consider are some arp head studs then turn it up. I ran 20lbs on my stock motor for a while. Just make sure you have a fuel supply that is good and a way to tune. I've read of people making 500-600 whp on stock engines.

I've heard of people making 600hp/10 sec. passes on a stock shortblock. As for peak boost i would guess it depends on the tune and luck.

It also depends on the year. 1g's are rated at 195 (I believe)

Every person on this forum can get 400hp out of the stock internals. The record is 640 by mister mike rizz and making years of passes and finally getting into the 9s on a stock block. Stock internals will hold a 14b and probably a e316g at full cfm. It's really just about the tune and making sure you don't over rev.

Some hold the hp some may not, or before how long when things break it is a car and eventually some things will fail, bang on any car sure, stock time will tell once you get on it.

Dude some people go up to 500+ ponies on a stock block or with some ARP head studs and bolts.

Well get the mods you need, wideband and tuning device, that will help you to boost away, while tuning the car, and watching you air fuel mixture while you do it so you dont blow it up.lol

Safely get a wideband, and watch it as long as your not leaning out and not knocking youshould be fine
go get the tools you need, we can tell you how long safely, the wideband is for tuning, maintain the car the more you bang on it like anything it will break. i wouldnt worry about safely, get the thiings you NEED, anad have some fun. You shouldnt go boosting away like we will tell you without proper mods get tools FIRST, why chance it.

yep hes going to get various answers. So we are saying some get 400hp and others get 500 this should give him a idea of what he could expect. Well man there you go, you will learn along the way.

If your new to the "boost" scene i would suggest taking it easy on ramping up the boost until you are familiar with the car and the sounds it makes... trust me rebuilding is not cheap

I love this thread... I swore I saw another thread like this days ago. But to be safe I would say under 20 psi for a while. It's all in the tune. We have members on here pushing 25 psi stock 7 bolt... example illeclipse.

I know there are thousands of maintenance posts on here but theres a reason they exist. IF you have all of that done (belts, hoses, gear oil and treat your care with love and have all of the existing mods needed to run higher boost it will do it. I daily drove my 2g for 2 years before going on the quest for more power. 6bolt swap arp bolts, mls head gasket, stock 7:8.1 compression stock cams Holset H1c with Bullseye dsm bolt on housing, stock 2g manifold, ebay 02housing, I ran 30lbs of boost daily on pump 93 with a single walbro. I could not get anymore boost out of it without knocking. I had one hell of a tune with dsmlink and it took it like that until I had a boost controller vac line split and cause me to spike well past 30lbs an into the 40 range if not higher. Goodbye ringland hello wiseco.

with my experince with other DSMers, on a stock engine, you can never raise the boost above 16psi or else that turbo will blow
