Are you sure I can't use my FWD axles?

from what I see on VFAQ.com it will work.
I have two perfectly good FWD CV shafts, will they work in my 90 TSI?:aha:
from what I have read they are interchangable in 90-late 92.

If so then I can start my AWD swap! (minus driveshaft)
So I just went outside and the AWD half shaft will fit inside both the FWD and AWD transmission.
So all i'm left with is length, are they the same length?

What exactly are you trying to do here?

You CAN use your passenger side FWD axle in an AWD.

You CAN use a driver's side axle and intermediate shaft in a FWD(I did it)

You CANNOT use a driver's side FWD axle in an AWD

Why will it work one way and not the other?
My car was switched to FWD, I am in the process of switching it back to AWD.
Oh I see, the big freakin thingy wont fit in that gap in the transfer case.
I went out and looked.. I should have done that before creating this thread..
