Can I just replace the clutch disc?

I have an Exedy Stage 1 Pressure Plate and a stock fly wheel. Both were resurfaced and cleaned up. Can I use any clutch disc inbetween these two? Or which do I get to choose from...sounds like a dumb question I know

The question is not dumb, the fact that you say you resurfaced your pressure plate is....

Did they top off your blinker fluid too? You can probably run a stock clutch or whatever Exedy sells with their stage 1 pressure plate package with no problems. Anything else you'll have to ask someone who actually knows what they are talking about.

I didn't say that I did. I had a machine shop resurface my fly wheel and the pressure plate had some burning on the inside ring, no in dents or chips/cracks - so it was 'resurfaced' by that I mean - cleaned up.

This is why I asked - I'm un-sure if a clutch is a clutch and it doesn't matter if you use xxx clutch with xxx pressure plate.

while your there you might as well get a lightweight flywheel but yes u can use any clutch disk as long as its for your car and the pressure plate and flywheel are too.

That helps, thanks.

Bought a 95 Talon TSi, FWD 5spd with a blown motor. Upon inspection of the clutch the material is quite degraded...so I figure instead of a OEM clutch or whatever equivalent I'd get something to hold power for future plans.
