what rear differentials will work on my 92 tsi?

my car is a 1992 eagle talon tsi automatic im pretty sure the car has a 6 bolt, made in april / may of 92. but the rear differential is bad, and there is a 97 tsi auto awd in the junkyard and i was gonna go pick up that differential but wanted to be positive that it will work. anyone know if itll work?

I don't believe the 2G rear diff will swap.

You need to identify if you have a 4 bolt or a 3 bolt auto diff and if it's got the viscous LSD or not just to be sure.

CAPS says it should have a MB861262 92-94 4 bolt rear diff and seems to imply that all were with the viscous LSD but that is how the Eclipses were and Chrysler sometimes had options where the more expensive parts were standard on an Eclipse.

Look at your diff and see if it has 3 0r 4 bolts on each side when looking at the bolt up to the axle stubs. Also there is typicly a sticker on the door sill indicating an lsd rearend.

Here is how a 4 bolt would look.
You also can know if you have a LSD by looking at the driver door panel above the latch . There will be an orange tag warning that you have one (see pics below)

It should have a 4 bolt but people do lots of cheap things to the cars so there is no way to be sure short of you looking and perhaps taking pictures if you don't know what your looking at.
