Dear all,

i read about this free mod here in the forums and i did it today after searching on the forums for hours.

i have seen people saying that their bov got louder and i have seen people saying its quieter

in my case its really quiet now its like i dont have BOV anymore, i have the stock intake and i have a K&N Filter and before this mod i used to hear my BOV whislte very loudly ( recirculated), however now i can not hear anything, i removed the pipes and put it back again so many times as DEFIANT said but i was not succesful in getting the sound back. performace wise its worth it as my boost used to drop from 15 psi to 9 at redline now its dropping to 11 psi only which is great. i have a t25 stock.

my question is how do i get the sound the back without buying hard pipes or anything else. i removed the filter and i could hear the BOV sound loudly. shall i just get another filter ?? what do you think guys. iam sure there is a way guys ... dont tell me just put that pipe back :nono::nono: performace wise its well worth it but i really want the sound too.

i forgot to tell you i have EVO 3 BOV (PLASTIC)

I know you said no to hard pipes but honestly, you should just buy them. If you are planning on making more power, then why not? Just buy hard intake pipes and be done with it. I didn't check your mod list but if you don't have a fmic, then just wait till you get one and with it, get an aluminum intake pipe. Not only will you notice a performace gain but a big change in your BOV sound. So honestly, I wouldn't even dink around with the stock pipes. Though good for experimenting, if you ask me.

It seems like it. Just don't worry about it man! Get a nice Metal intake pipe from one of the vendors here like dejon tool and be done with it. You will be relieved from it. If its sound from the bov that you are looking, then this will give it to you. Really! Not only that but you will really hear your turbo spool, along with your bov.
Go here: DEJON | Powerhouse

Honestly, as long as your BOV still works properly, you shouldn't be concerned about the sound. When I cut my tube, mine got pretty quiet as well. I didn't read your mod list, but do you have an aftermarket BOV or the stocker?

How is an Evo 3 plastic BOV an upgrade over the stock 2g plastic BOV? I really don't see the point of "upgrading". Either way, it's probably still leaking.

If it were the metal Evo IX BOV then I could see that being an upgrade. Without switching to a hard dump tube or a hard intake pipe, you'll probably not get your sound back. Mine got quieter as well after the dump tube cut.

evo 3 bov will leak only after 18 psi ( the stock boost on evo is 18 psi) so for sure its an upgrade this evo plastic bov is for evos from 3- 8 they use the same plastic bov.

tried and tested it wont leak i made a boost leak test and it held 16 psi

thanks

Why would you cut the dump tube? Doesn't it run like shit if it's not recirculating? At least, that's what I thought.

I custom made a metal dump tube for my 1g BOV. Nice sound...not a high whistle sound, but it's a low pffssshhhh

guys i found a solution , now i have my BOV sound back and its even louder than before

i just pressure the recirculation tube with a Metal Clumps i just put one on it and tighten it a bit without blocking it completly and VOILA the SOUND IS BACK. i even have a whislte sound now like the Greedy S

do you guys think that i am blocking the air and that i might damage something ??

let me know

It shouldn't harm it. You just adjusted the pressure/velocity in the recirculation tube. It's still a dumb thing to do just for sound however.
Whatever floats your boat.

Can you post a pic of what you did? Not understanding.

i will take picture man and will post soon, however i will explain to you again , i just put a hose clamps on the middle of the recirculation tube and tighten it a bit just to make the recirculation tube flowing less air, hence the sound is back

i hope you understand now and for the people who are making fun, well i did cut the dump tube for performance but also i still want my bov sound and thats why i did this.

just get a 1g METAL bov(make sure it's not crushed, and you'll need the flange) you're going to want to atleast get normal pipe for under the fuse box where it gets real slim... this will give you the noise you want... you can message me if you have any more questions. Also, when you did the dump tube cut, did you leave it in a slight angle? you're not supposed to cut it straight off
