Is the sensor that is on the transmission, (FWD), on the far left passanger side, is that sensor the reverse light sensor?.
 
depends on the model of your car. on mine (97 GS) it is a blue plug with 2 wires on the drivers side front of the tranny. it will only have 2 wires because all the switch is is a ball bearing that a "rod" in the tranny kicks up when its in reverse. the bearing connects the 2 posts and makes a circuit to your reverse lights.
