i kno this doesnt belong in here but i dont have enuf posts to put in the stroker tech section.

anyways, heres my dilemma

i bought a block to build a stroker with and was told it waas a 6 bolt. so i bought a 4g64 crank, and 6 bolt connecting rods and pistons. turns out its an early 7 bolt, and the rods obviously do not fit between the counterweights of the crank. is it possible to use the pistons with a 7 bolt rod set or do i need a different set of rods and pistons? the crank fits perfectly, all oil clearences are within spec and so is endplay.

You can use 7 bolt rods but you will need to use 7 bolt pistons because the rod pins are different size. I would suggest not going with 7 bolt rods anyway because they are the weaker of the 2 unless you go aftermarket.

You need a matched set of rotating parts, all for a seven bolt stroker.
Stock size 7 bolt rods.
Stock size (100mm) 4G64 7 bolt crankshaft.
Special stroker pistons, with the wrist pins moved up 6mm for a 7 bolt.

The simplest way to go is with a stroker kit that includes bearings, rod bolts, and rings.
