So to all the new DSMer's out there let me remind you to make sure your DSM(2G) have had the recalls done. I was leaving my house tonight and turned the wheel and then BLAM. I'm setting on the ground on the passenger side. Funny thing is I just setup a appointment with Mitsu to get the recall done. These pics were done at 8:30 p.m. so I'll try to get somemore in the morning.

You sure it hadn't been performed before you took ownership? Recall has been out for quite some time now, most people have had it done to their cars by previous owners by now.

They might not perform it due to milage and the recall came out in 01...My brought my spyder in this morning. They couldn't do it. I call BS but mitsu corporate they saiid the same thing.

When i had my 2g FWD, all recalls were already performed by the previous owner so i couldn't get any dealer to re-honor any of the recalls.

Nope called the dealership this afternoon and they ran the VIN and it came up as recall not performed. We set up a appoinment for monday at 8:30. So now the question is will they tow it to get the recalls fixed. I'm just glad I didn't put the rims(16in tsi swirlies) and tires i just bought on it. I have 14in wheels on it now.

If your talking about the painted arm(orange) it was painted when I got the clutch put it. He also painted the bottom of the tranny.

what years of eclipse was the recall parts for? Does any1 know if 95 GSX were recalled for parts issue?

Call the dealership and ask to talk to service ask them to run your VIN to see if the recall affects your car. :thumb:
From what I have read it affects the 2G eclipse front passenger laterial arm and ball joint.

I had it happen once on each side when I had my 96gsx years back! Both times I was doing about 30mph and it was very scary. It took forever to get the car on the tow truck both times as well due to needing a flatbed(awd). I was unaware of the recall back then and found out a little after i sold it. I told a girl at work about it and the dealer fixed this on her Avenger for free. I would expect they will want you to cover the tow, without some arguing/phone calls.

When I called about the recall on my 97 GS-T they asked for the VIN. They ran it, said it needed the recall. I drove to the Mitsu dealer, they ran the VIN, said it wasn't under the recall. Then they wanted to charge me $80 to check them out...

Update---My car is done and they replaced the clutch, rebuilt cv axel, and the balljoint/arms. He said when the car fell it locked the axel up and burned the clutch to the pressure plate. So I got another stage 2 clutch (Clutch Masters 2-resurfaced flywheel)..So I'll have my car back in about 2 hrs..They(techs) say the like the way my car sounds for a N/T...

I dont know if the recall has been done on my Spyder or not. I would kinda rather buy the parts myself and fix it. I cant trust my car to other people....especially dealership retards.

This happened to me a few weeks ago, but I was pulling into the driveway. We're both super lucky considering what could possibly happen at speed. I had the recall done years ago, but they only changed the driver's side, this happened on the pass side. I'm in the process now of replacing/freshening up everthing on the suspension.
