If you wrap a welded tubular manifold improperly you can trap moisture between the manifold and the wrap, leading to corrosion and cracking. Also, if the manifold is poorly designed and/or poorly welded the additional heat being built up in the manifold due to the wrap can causes issues with the welds. However, the T-netics mani is cast and therefore inherently stronger than a tubular manifold, so you should be ok. Be sure to wrap it tightly and use silicon sealing spray.
