I have a 93 plymouth laser with a rebuilt 6 bolt that I put it back in. It started right up. Ran and drove fine(well around the block a few times). I parked it for a couple weeks because I needed to get a few parts back before I could put it on the road. Got the parts back went to start the car to move it into the driveway to put the bumpers back and no start...it cranks but will not fire up. I thought it was probably just the battery since it wasnt holding a charge very well. I put a new one in charged it and still crank crank crank but no start. So then I checked to make sure it was getting fuel...I can hear the pump running and I have pressure, I still have the gauge on the fpr. Just for the hell of it I pulled the cap off the fpr and fuel poured out so its getting gas....I pulled the plugs which are new with the motor and I tried grounding all 4 of them out on the intake manifold and again on the exhaust manifold while cranking. None of them spark at all . The cel light is not on. The plug wires are maybe a year old as well. So far I checked the coils. The resistance checks out on both sides. I tested the power transistor with a battery and test light that also tested out. I tested the connection for the cam position sensor with the key on and it is not getting any supply voltage or signal voltage. Its getting like 12mV from the power wire that is supposed to get 12V and like 3 mV from the signal wire. The ground is good on the connection. What would cause this? ECU? Short in the wires somewhere? I dont want to try and plug another ECU in and fry that one...or something like that. The car was working fine, ran fine, didnt die or just stop working...I just parked it for a couple weeks and then when I went to fire it up it only cranks and cranks. Thanks in advance for any help.

Check all your fuses, and see if you have power to any of the other things that are supplied by the MPFI relay.

If none of that works, call Dayo's Garage in Tonawanda, NY #694-3050. I have all the parts, tools, and experience to fix it without throwing any un-needed parts at it. I'm not too far away either.

thanks...the car is still kind of in peices and I'm not to the point of needing to tow it to a shop yet. I'm just gonna keep going through wiring diagram and trying to trace this thing back to the source. Any additional tips or info is still greatly appreciated though.

You say you don't have 12V at the Cam/Crank angle sensor pin #3 red wire right? How about the EGR, purge, fuel pressure, and waste gate solenoids? And are you also not getting power to the ISC, MAF, fuel injectors, O2 sensor heater, pin 102 of the ECU, and pin 107 of the ECU?

I'll give you a minute to check that................................................

Ok minute's up; if you don't have power at any of those places (with the key on run), you need to check if there's 12V at the big black and red wire that goes into pin ten of the MPFI relay. That wire is supplied 12V from the main fusible link #1 under the hood.

If you want anymore help you can PM me, so I'll know to check back on this thread.

Well I got a replacement ecu with dsmlink so I figured I would try that in there and see what happens. Put it in fired right up. I also noticed before changing the that the CEL was not testing and the boost gauge wasn't zeroing. Replaced the ECU it started lighting the CEL and zeroing the gauge, and fired right up. I guess my orignal ECU is fried.
