MHI 20g question

I got a few questions for the pro's out there.

I recently picked up a MHI td06 20g, I got the turbo and I was looking at the hotside of it and there is a 1/2" gap between the turbine and the housing, I thought I remember seeing something about if there is a gap then it will cause the turbo not to spool, I included a pic for you guys to see.

Another question, how do I know if it is actually a TD06? And from the pics , what kind of housing is that? It does not look like a MHI to me.

I did some research on hahns 20g and it doesn't seem to be it. The housing seems to be a bullseye housing.. How can I tell if this thing is actually a td06?

Someone has put the wrong size Bullseye housing on that turbo, without a doubt.

I bought a 20G one time that was like that....someone was running a TD06 turbine in a TD06H turbine housing:

I can't see how it made any power at all the way it was. The turbine wheel was damaged, so it needed replaced anyway. Here's how it SHOULD look (how it looked after I rebuilt the turbo):

If it helps, I just rebuilt one of those "49178-04600" 20G's for a guy (they were originally intended as a factory upgrade for the 17C on the Syclone / Typhoon trucks), and it had a TD05H turbine wheel, which is probably what turbine yours has. The first part of the part number generally refers to the turbine assembly:

49177 = TD04H/04HL
49178 = TD05H
49179 = TD06/06H
