ok i have a 91 awd 2.0 turbo 5speed and i was wanting to know if any other tranny will work like a fwd bolted to the awd bell housing or something like that
just let me know because i can get fwd trannys cheap and i know it won't bolt up to the block but looks like it might bolt up to the awd bell housing
thanks

no i don't wanna make it fwd....it just easier and cheaper to find a fwd transmission

Well... putting a FWD trans into your AWD car is going to make it FWD...

It will bolt up. Should work pretty good too. Not sure on axles and what not because I know the driver's side is different but I think it's only because it is a true halfshaft and is supported to the block with a carrier bearing. The FWD one is all one piece. Everything else should swap over just fine. Remember to drop your t-case and driveshaft and throw them in the garage.

no, im talkin about the keepin on the car the t-case and the awd bell housing and just bolting a fwd gear box to the awd bell housing

Nope... Not going to work... We really don't have bellhousings that can be replaced with other bellhousings like other cars can. The bell housing is part of the casing that holds the gears in place and the FWD trans is totally different internally than the AWD one.
