well my car is stock i only have a 1g BOV and a crappy K&N box filter. do i need to get one this early in my game? i was also thinking after the 1g bov my next mod could be a intake or what do you guys think?

You should have an internal wastegate on your turbo. You're only going to have to move to an external once you get higher into the boost, or get a bigger turbo. The 14b you have should already have a wastegate on the turbo and it should be able to regulate the boost fine on what you're probably pushing. If you do some research on wastegate's you'll see that you already have one on your stock turbo. :thumb:

Edit: Thought it said you had a 1g, in your case you have a T25 turbo as long as your car is stock, and it too already has a wastegate. I'd follow the steps in order to upgrade your car.. It's worked for everyone else, you won't be no different! Tech Guide: 2G 4G63t Upgrades - DSMtuners

To answer your question; A wastegate is needed to regulate boost, without one you might have a blown engine :p

As twistaye said there's a internal wastegate connected to your turbo.Upgrading it would be ideal if your going to put a bigger turbo. If your running stock you already have a internal wastegate on your t25.I wouldn't buy something you don't need at the moment.:thumb:
