Well, I was just informed that the ECU in my 92 GSX that I just bought is out of a 90 DSM. Fortunately I was shown that its for a Manual AWD. So, Im wondering is there any difference besides the pins 6 and 4 needing switched?

I had an idling problem where my idle surged terribly and it stalled like crazy. So I switched the pins and now it idles pretty solid, but the bad part is that it idles at 1500rpm. And after I drove it to Wal-Mart went in and came olut 30 mins. later and when I started it it struggled to idle at 500rpm. That seems to be my major problem, I adjust everything while the motor is fully warmed up and idles perfect, then it works fine when I shut it off and restart it right away, but when I let it sit for a little while that happens.

I did properly set the BISS and when those connectors are grounded it idles perfectly at 800rpm, but when they are removed and the computer regains control of the idle it jumps back up to the 1500rpm. I have yet to try and adjust my TPS but I dont know if that will solve my problem or not. Only other thing I can think of is maybe the replacement ISC I got might not be working properly. Or could a bad ISC mess up a 90 ECU as well? Just curious since those wires needed switched.

Is there anything else that a 90 ECU may alter in my car that a 91-94 ECU would do differently? Thanks guys!!!:coy:

The correct pins to switch are 6 and 14.

OK, thanks guys! I was worried that there may be more things than just that, but my car seems to be running very well with those wires switched, I hope it keeps up!

Bringing back this thread..

So a 90 ecu in a 92 needs pins 6 and 14 swapped correct?Just swap the wires out and your good to go?

This is a stupid question, but does it matter if its a fwd, or awd ecu? And if so what would happen?
