Ok so Ive been looking for exhaust from the header back. I am planning on an Apexi N1 catback with a high flow cat. but I found that Punishment racings 2.5" downpipe is now true bent instead of press bent so its 2.5" all the way thru. Its 165 bucks for mild steel and 215 for SS while the apexi is 209 (both before shipping). Which would be the better buy? Im not looking at making a race car and im not interested in making it a turbo, i just want a fun street car but i dont want to buy cheap crappy parts. Any advice?

Punishment Racing's downpipe is 3" and it is $115. Where are you getting your figures from?

N/T's dont have downpipes, they have a header that goes from the block to the cat. Last I checked apexi dosent even make a header for the N/T eclipse.

Im not looking for a header it has a brand new OE header and im not looking to replace it for awhile. I guess i just need a catback then. Thanks guys.

Ok ok, I dont need all the BS posts. If you arent going to answer my question then dont post in my thread please. Im trying learn about this car since i come from cars that are nice and simple when it comes to exhaust. Two headers, mid pipe and cats and catback. Now I have test pipes and downpipes and all kinds of new terms to learn about. So until i bought this car i really had no idea what a downpipe was.... i figured it was the mid pipe.

So if someone could please tell me that since the manifold goes straight to the cat and the cat to the mufflers etc. do i just need a highflow cat and a catback to accomplish my current exhaust goals?

Ok, well i like the Apexi N1 for the catback and found one on MAperformance.com for 509 Anyone know of a less expensive site? And then if i need a header whats a inexpensive but good quality header and where can i find it because ive only found turbo manifolds..

are you sure the apexi is for the non turbo. i didnt know they made one for the n/t. since it is a non turbo you could go with a brand like pace setter or somthing other because you dont have alot of options. i think i a pace setter cat back in black with a chrome tip is like 250 bux plus shipping. just look around but for a non turbo ebay is your best friend.:thumb:

you can find headers at andysautosport.com they will be fine for your car.

I dont think thats gonna work on your N/T. If you want "full" exhaust, you buy a header, cat, catback as stated eight times. Just go to ebay.

I think the problem he is coming across is that when he is looking fort exhaust components hes not imputing that its a 420a most sites and such assume all dsm guys are turbo!
