I've recently switched from an Evo IX MR (plastic) BOV to the 1g when I upgraded to a fmic (1g flange). I ran 20 psi daily on the IX BOV and would like to run even more on the 1g BOV, thus was considering doing the dodge garage mod. However after some research I've discovered that a lot of people experience compressor surge, or suffer drivability at 15 psi or less.
Enter the Gus Mahon (RIP) "Gus Mod" aka dejon stopleak kit. The easy way would be to take the hose off the vent tube on the BOV for high boost, then return the hose for low boost. The problem is that I run a dual stage boost controller that is adjustable from the cabin, so it would be nice to retain this feature.
So my question is where can I get that solenoid dejon sells, but for much cheaper? Also has anyone attempted to just run a "Gus Modded" 1g BOV to the stock BCS? Would the stock BCS control the BOV at high and low boost allowing it to quick release no matter how the car is driven?
Thoughts?
