Timing Belt Off 1 Tooth?

This may be a stupid question but im goin to ask it anyway and take the Flames if they appear... Lol. So i put my timing belt on tonight and it is exactly 1 tooth off. I rotated the crank shaft about 10 times and nothing is hitting or causing extra resistance. My question is how bad would it be to leave it 1 tooth off? or should i just take it back off and fix it?

I did my timing belt a few years ago and i had the exhaus tooth off by one. I have to say that it did work, and turned over with no problems.

Just fix it. You're right there and there's no better time to do it. No point in having to tear it all down later. Do it once do it right.

Take it off and start over, its better to be safe than sorry. You are just looking for someone to give you a reason to drive it like that but in trouth you know what needs to be done.

Bad things cannot happen. I ran my car for years with the stock exhaust cam retarded one tooth.

The question is do you want to. You will have a lopey cammed idle from more overlap. You will have faster spool. But power will die up top when you start to push your turbo (higher than stock boost) because you will have more exhaust pressure than boost pressure. Exhaust flow will push into the intake at higher rpms.

If it is retarded one tooth (exhaust cam turned counter clockwise one tooth), then it is a neat free mod to get a little more out of a nearly stock setup at under 15ish psi with a stock turbo.
