Ok all I really need is opinions. My cooling temps rise above 220F after driving for few minutes, and it causes knock. I just got a bigger turbo w/ ex. wastegate setup. I have a a 9" ebay crappy fan. B/c of the wastegate positioning.
Now I just want to know if I should just get a new radiator or a new slimline fan or both. And how cool you got you temps.

You can't even run the stock passenger side fan? Do you have dsmlink set to run the fan all the time? How fresh is your coolant and what is the mixture ratio?

Also, do you have a heat shield on the manifold or turbo?

How are you tuning your car without a wideband?

Your underlying problem maybe a lean condition in the engine, a bad thermostat or your crappy fan.

Get a 14 inch fan. Problem solved. At first I thought my setup would kill my car and make it overheat. It's actually not that bad. My 14 inch fan is sufficient enough for it. I had to eliminate my 12 inch fan due to the WG as well. My turbo is not heatshielded. It's only Swain Tech coated. If you're still overheating, the problem may lie elsewhere. Do a check on your coolant with the multimeter.

Yes I do have Dsmlink, and I am using the passenger side fan. I haven't put my heat shield back on yet. I will try and get a 14" fan. Thanks.

FWIW, I only have my passenger side fan and I have never seen my temp go above 203. This is with the fan set to always on.

I have seen my temps go to 210 but that was on a hot humid day stuck in traffic (not moving for about 40min).

The largest fan you can properly fit is a 12".
A 14" fan will overlap onto the upper and lower endtanks.

If you've already removed your A/C, then consider getting two 12" pusher fans and mount them on the front of the radiator core.

That will only work well if he doesn't have an AC condenser.

I'm only running the stock passenger fan and it does the job, i got no a/c condenser tho although i have a huge fmic.

I also run a 160 degree thermostat, car runs way too cool in the winter tho, i offset it in dsmlink so that the ecu doesn't stay in fuel enrichment mode.
