I snapped a belt today when driving.
As soon as it snapped, my gauges lit up.
The little yellow gauge with like the house came on, the battery, and the brake light?
I lost my power steering even though the PS belt itself it attached.
I bough the new belts, but did I ruin anything by driving it home with a snapped Alt belt?

Completely normal.

Also completely normal. Take a look at the pulley/belt configuration again. The power steering pulley is only driven off of the water pump pulley. And the WP pulley and alternator are both driven from the crank. So, if the alternator belt snaps, then none of the accessories are going to work. That includes the water pump and power steering.

As long as it didn't overheat due to the lack of coolant circulation, you should be fine. Throw a charger on that battery too - it probably needs it now.

It kinda overheated.
When I stopped my coolant was boiling :sosad:
What are symptoms of an overheat?

Umm, your coolant temp gauge pegging hot instead of idling mid-sweep...

When your car overheats while driving, the first thing you do is shut off the engine and coast to the side of the road. Any other action is the wrong action. If you press on and keep driving, you are only escalating the problem, causing the solution to only be more complicated and more expensive.

I know that, I wasn't paying attention to the gauges, because I had no idea that it could overheat from that, I just wanted to get home.
So how do I tell if I ####ed something up?

If you messed something up, then the problem will present itself. In many cases, overheating leads to a warped head and a failed/failing head gasket. Keep an eye on it to make sure the following aren't happening:

* Leaking/consuming oil and/or coolant
* Excessive smoke out of the tailpipe
* Mixing coolant with oil (and vise versa)

If none of this ever happens, then count your blessings and learn from your mistake.

It wasn't like a long drive, It was only about a 10 minute drive. Coolant was leaking out of the overflow, but it's cold out, so I dont think it would have done anything, because it started leaking/steaming when I was about 1 minute away from home.
I'll look for those things, lets hope it doesnt.

^^ I agree with No_Skillz. Chin up man. As the old saying goes "It ain't over till it's over". And for future reference, that yellow light that looks like a house is actually a crude picture of a radiator. When that comes on keep an eye on your coolant temp.

Well good news!
I just put new belts on, everything seems fine.
No white smoke out of exhaust, no Coolant mixed with oil (so far)
It looks like my talon pulled through!
Thank you for your support.
My mind got the best of me when I was wondering how bad it is.
Plus I get to miss the rest of school today because I went home to fix it :thumb::p
Thanks guys.
