So the talon that i am about to go pick up this weekend, the lady thats selling it says the clutch is fine and shifts great, she says once in awhile you have to double clutch it. What does this mean for the health of the transmission? will i need to replace it? and what parts?

double clutch
1. Clutch in
2. put in neutral
3. clutch out
3A. RPM match
4. clutch in
5. shift to next gear
6. clutch out

It means it's the typical DSM transmission that's been owned by wannaracers who don't think double-clutching is of any use in a syncromesh-equipped gearbox, and who have now proven why it is. The amount of bother it is to you will largely be a personal determination, and whether you find double-clutching or transmission rebuilding more of a bother.

by her saying she has to double clutch it once and a while, does she mean that the clutch feels soft once and a while, and that she has to let off the clutch and push it back in to shift?? if so, check for a fluid leak in the slave cylinder, master cylinder and hoses...also, try bleeding the line. I had a car that got a air bubble in the line, and I had to do the "push pedal in once, let off then push in again to shift" so that the pedal was hard again.
