Jdm engine identification help

ok i bought a 7 bolt red top engine i need to know everything about this engine so i can swap the right stuff over.

What I Know About The Engine :

7 bolt jdm redtop------- mitsubishi up top dohc 16v on bottom of valve cover

Automatic

2 black injectors 2 blue ones completly different style injector plugs/ injector harness more 1g 6 bolt stylish

different smaller shorter intake manifold with no throttle bodie elbow

different water jacket and powersteering brackets are different then the 95 gsx 7 bolt i have

different style ignition coil

small turbo with completley different outlet setup and waste gate location

mabey some other things i havnt noticed..

motormount is the same.


its it an rvr motor, a galant motor an evo motor ect ect.....
what i want to know is what this engine came out of this and should I swap the cams from my 5 speed usdm 95 gsx ,throttle bodie ect.....

any other helfull hints i pulled the old motor out today so prep work is underway, i play on putting my usdm exhaust manifold turbo ect on, usdm intakemanifold and fuel rail/injectors, change the waterjackets over, and the power steering and alternator brackets, coil packs to the jdm engine

take a look under the timing cover, I have a broken b/s belt on my jdm swap. Post pics. It sounds like your motor came from an auto van turbo or something.

well i herd that the cams on a automatic are smaller then the ones on the 5 speeds is this true?

i think so, I read they are different too. I didnt change out the cams in my friends auto to manual motor swap though. I wonder if it matters.

does anyone have any information on this? if i put my 5speed usdm cams in the jdm engine that was previously automatic what kind of perfomance gains if any will i get ?

there is a thread on it. Im pretty sure its not a big difference in performance. If you are so concerned just swap them out. They are marked. My friend bought a jdm sr20 and had HKS cams.

You got an automatic turbo motor there with a small 13B turbo (180hp stock) and the two bluetops should be black since the auto turbo used blacktop 390cc injectors. bluetops are 450cc injectors made for the manual tranny. I'd find a 14B to match the 450cc injectors to get more stock HP.

...or, just the redtop cover from a VR4 sitting on a 7bolt that the motor came from a mitz..for VR4 motors have diff motor mounts setups and incompatible with DSM's.
