Saw white smoke from under my hood, and I realized I was burning oil. Over the weekend I did an oil change and got a new oil filter on. Before the oil change I was leaking oil horribly, and found it was coming from my filter. This time, there isn't a puddle of oil or anything leaking out noticable, but I know I am still leaking it from somewhere. Any ideas on where it could be leaking from? The smoke is coming from the alternator/oil filter area obviously. I am at my campus about 5 miles away from my home. Would it be ok to drive home? If so, what should I check when or before I get there?

I know that white smoke means burning coolant...but I'm 95% sure Im burning oil

on 91-94 the oil filter housing has coolant lines that run into it. My 91 had some crappy clamps on it causing the coolant to leak and blow on the alt and ruining it.

take the oil filter off and there is a nut that if it isnt tight the oil filter will actually spin itself off. now if you tighten that nut dont go nuts and crank it way tight if you do you will break the water fins and mix oil and coolant.

The two coolant lines that go into that oil cooler are blocked and clamped off.
