Burnaby,
So I just installed the SAFC2 on my 1990 Talon TSi AWD and need some tuning help. I have the GM 3" MAFT running 550cc injectors, FMIC, Big 16g, 15psi, and a stock rewired fuel pump. Wondering what settings I should start off with both on the MAFT and SAFC. Should I run the tranlator rich and lean it up with the SAFC or set the tranlator to 550cc injectors and richen with the SAFC? Thanks!

I've got a logger, but I should get a WBO2 too eh? What brand you think is good in price and quality?

I'm using an AEM Wideband, and have to say it is pretty nice, and almost going to be running the same setup you have. They aren't cheap, but worth it.

Actually I got my AEM UEGO wbo2 on ebay and it was the cheapest I could find. Only problem is the aem replacement sensor is a little expensive. If you get a wbo2 you can make sure you afr at wot is at 11.1 afr and you wont have to guess by using a logger when you see knock.

Wideband coming in tomorrow Autometer Cobalt to match all other guages, $350 CAN. I've had my palm setup for the last year or so, just watching what everything does. Haven't done any serious pulls in the car yet, want to make sure everything is good. Getting my rear bearings done tomorrow aswell since they've been wining for awhile now. I might have either a small vaccum leak or my boost gauge's MAP sensor thing is faulty, but I'm leaning more toward a leak somewhere because it sits around 10 inHg sometimes worse and the boost throughout is off from the stock guage which I know is not to be trusted. The Big 16g I have has an adjustable wastegate, when I bought it I was getting crazy boost like 20 psi. Bought a MBC and still 20 psi all the way down. Learned that someone cranked the adjustable nut on the wastegate down pretty tight. The wastegate wasn't opening. Loosened it and before the boost gauge problem I was getting around 15 psi. When I do get a bit heavier on the pedal, I sometimes get a hint of gas fumes from somewhere not sure where. I've replaced my tank and filler tube since they were rotten to hell. This is a winter driven car with road salt used in the wintertime up here. Damn Pineapple Express:notgood:.

Checked all my vaccum hoses and nothing. Alright, I set the translator at 550cc and left both the dials on that and the SAFC at 0. Just for clarification about the SAFC; when I put the correction into the "+%" I'm adding air (leaning it out) and in the negative %'s I'm richening?

Im just listening in!I want to know about this set up too but with evo injectors?

it would work on the evo injectors as long as you have an safc and a wideband so you can monitor your airflow ratio

Really on the rich lean thing, when you add air your telling the injectors to fire longer, therefore enriching the mixture. Going into the -% your taking air out telling the injectors to fire less, leaning it out. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I was trying to figure that out. I hope I can get this figured out before my emissions (AirCare) expires. The car has failed once because of a burnt out cat, but it usually runs lean on the tests so maybe I'll try and make it a bit richer. Got my WBO2, you guys run both your regluar O2 for the ECM and then the WBO2 on the downpipe right? If thats the case I'm gonna get a 3" downpipe, high flow cat, and catback. Get a shop to weld that bung on and I'll be set. Thanks guys :thumb:
