Hey guys, I'm having all kinds of trouble with practically anything that lights up in my car :notgood:. My interior lights including but probably not limited to my gauge cluster lights, HVAC, and cigarette lighter ring light do not work. (my two reading lights in the rearview mirror do work so i'm forced to turn them on when i need to know my exact speed :() Also, I just noticed that my sidemarkers were "out of order" and are not lighting up either, and on top of that, my buddy also let me know that my tailights don't work. Now i'm not sure if it may be related but my aftermarket head unit also "skips" occasionally (it will just randomly start turning on and off whenever it feels like I'm having too good of a day) please help me with this guys cause I really don't want to get pulled over and ticketed for my tailights not working.

Thanks guys!

With all these problems I would be leaning towards a Multifunction Switch (turn signal, light switch, and bright/dim toggle on the left side of your steering column). Or look for a redundant ground or a ground that is used for interior/exterior lights and multiple systems. If need be I can supply you with a wiring diagram. If you can, get a voltmeter and check voltage for your lights coming out of your Multifunction Switch, there should be a connector somewhere around the base of your steering column under the dash.

I also forgot to say that when I was installing my 3 aftermarket gauges, I hooked them up to the cigarette lighter but that didn't work well so I hooked them up to the rotary switch instead. I only messed with one ground (the one from the cigarette lighter) but I think cig light, hvac, and gauge lighting are on the same circuit (if that's what you call it). I thought it may have been that I could have messed something up while hooking my gauges up to the rotary switch or the cig light but I double checked it and everything seemed fine. Could a single fuse maybe have caused this?

Yes, it could very easily have messed something up. Go back to the ground and double check to make sure it is tight, then check the fuse for the system. And what do you mean by rotary switch, I'm sure I know what you are talking about, I probably just know it by a different name. Lets see, your radio might just be on the same circuit, I don't know for sure, but if it is an aftermarket radio then the same ground may have been used and it could be loose, causing it to lose power momentarily and then regain it. After you check those we will see what is left LOL. Good luck.
