Hey guys. I was looking at my eclipse today, when I noticed my exhaust hanger was broken off (the rear most hanger) so It was grinding the ground and making the car run funky. So, I crawl under the car to look at it. I put it on a jack stand to raise it back up, and voi'la. Problem solved.

THEN.

I turned the car off, went to pull the jack out from under the exhaust, to find oil dripping.
I tried this again, I cleaned up the oil, and turned the car on. No oil leaking. Turned the car off, looked back down there, and it's dripping WTF!!.

What could cause this? It's coming from above my transfer case, because it's dripping down from above it, and running down the transfer case.

Well I have a driver side axle shaft leaking. So I have a seal I'm going to throw in. but this isn't the leak i'm referring to. I'm referring to "Engine" oil. It's leaking somewhere by the oil pan, but the pan itself doesn't seem to be leaking. It's mainly coming from where the oil pan sorta meets the transmission. I've attached a pic to further describe location.

BAH! I just put it in for the second time in 2 weeks!
But! My question.: Would oil be on my flywheel if it was that? due to it kind've running down? lower part of the inspection plate is off so I can see the flywheel with the transfer case off, and I don't see any engine oil. I'm putting this on hold and going to get some brake cleaner, and clean off the bottom of my car. and turn it on while in air (with transfer case off) and let it run 10 or so while I watch under the car..

HOPEFULLY. I'll figure it out :).

*Updates soon*

Alright I'm asking because there is no trace of any oil on the flywheel. and the thing has been sitting for a few days. I slowly feel a sigh of relief hoping I don't have to pull my transmission back out again LOL

I have the car up on jackstands right now. I'm waiting on my axle seal to come in from jnztuning so I can fix that leak before I put new gear oil in, so I can turn the car on :).

I WILL post soon as I get my gear oil leak fixed, then I'll be able to turn it on and watch from below as it happens. Thanks guys.
