i was wondering if i can just remove my wastegate solenoid completly and just connect the hoses together...what will happen if i do?

Yes it is highly likely it will throw a code. For performance, it is recommended to get a boost controller and the silenoid be left in there. I removed mine and threw a code right away. Keeping it plugged in does not hinder performance what so ever once you are running a different type of boost control. :thumb:

ok. well i have a apexi avc-r electronic boost control with the apexi boost control solenoid, but the positive wire broke off of it and there is no way to put it back on..what exactly do you mean throw a code?

If you remove the stock Boost Control Solenoid, you will receive a Check Engine Light (CEL), otherwise known as "throwing a code". Fun fact: Only 2g's throw codes for BCS removal; 1g guys, take the BCS out all you want- no penalty.

If you can find a capable electrician who knows how to solder, I'm sure he'd have no trouble reconnecting that positive wire. Can you post a picture of what the damage looks like?

Also, to answer your question, yes, you can simply connect your boost source (from the J-pipe or Compressor cover, hopefully) directly the wastegate actuator. You'll run what's called wastegate spring pressure, which is usually limited to between 9 and 11 psi.

By throwing a code it means the Check Engine light will light up and will display a diagnostics code through its OBD2 system. Once you check the code, the code itself will be directly related to the boost silenoid not being present.

Go to a junkyard or look on the classifieds on this forum for a BCS. If you have an aftermarket boost controller, the only reason you need the BCS (as a few have said already) is to plug it in, let it go along for the ride - doing nothing - and keep your ECU from throwing a code. The ECU on a 2g knows when the BCS is unplugged, and it doesn't think that's a good idea, so it throws a code. If your check engine light (CEL) is "on" all the time, it's annoying, and it leads to you ignoring it so that you don't realize when the ECU has detected another, potentially important, error code. I still have mine installed in the normal place, but it's not controlling boost...it's only purpose is to keep the ECU from throwing that code. Many other 2g owners probably will not let go of theirs for this reason, but I'm sure you can find one somewhere. They can't cost much, especially from a junkyard.

ya well we dont have hardly any junkyards around here that have anything even dsm related really..:( but i do have a nother 95 eclipse gst that i might pull it off of because i dont drive it anymore..i also think my mfi relay got messed up..does anybody know where i can get one at?
