Anybody ever get a bad NEW TPS?

I've been trying to resolve what I had thought was a cold-start problem. The more I tune, clean and adjust everything into spec, the problem doesn't really seem to be temperature related anymore. There is mild bucking and hesitation @ approx. 2K rpm. The car stutters under acceleration as if it had bad plug wires.
I never messed with the TPS untill yesterday. Less than a year ago I slapped-on a brand new OE throttle body. I never checked the TPS, foolishly assuming that it would be factory adjusted. Also foolishly, I had always used the VFAQ resistence method to adjust it previously. I finally juiced the right info out of the universe from a combination of sources. My TPS is now set to a voltage of 506 mV when closed. Then I reset the BISS. Now the car behaves like it should (and hasn't for a long time) in regards to idling. It holds a high idle upon deceleration, the fast idle at start-up is at a more appropriate rpm, etc...
But...it still stutters at 2000rpm. I don't have an analog VOM to check the smoothness of the voltage sweep, just a digi. I do have 2 spare TPSs. I made a magic wrench to adjust the TPS w/ the TB on the mani, all I have to pull is the PCV hose. But I'd have to pull the TB to swap in a different TPS. I'm sick of chasing my tale on this, so I'm just asking around if anyone ever had a new Mitsu TPS go bad on them in less than a year, or if you can ruin a new TPS by having it misadjusted?
Also, I put di-electric grease on the terminals of my coolant temp sensor, the rubber boot has crumbled. Is that OK? I put the grease on the terminals in a window switch once. I have a different window switch now.
Anyone?

Things aren't 100% better, but thanks dsmpat95. I pretty much completely forgot that I swapped in a different MAF at the same time I adjusted the TPS. After I read your reply I put the old one back in and things are much less disturbing now. Maybe my TPS and MAF aren't right, but they're better than that other MAF! Thanks.
