Ok so after saving to finally buy the evo316g I've been planning on buying for 6 months... I order it and then get an email from maperformance saying they are on national backorder with no ETA.WTF :barf::barf::barf: :cry::cry:
So they do the right thing and offer me an 18g for a unknown discounted price if im interested. So my question is, should i get the 18g or just get a Big16g (as long as they arent on backorder also:cry:)? Please take a look at my profile to see what u think would work best for me.

18g would work well with your 272's, although not as well as it could if you don't have an exhaust (saw it on your wish list and not mod's list)...

My FP 18gSL2 is in the mail.:rocks:

You PFD whore!!!!! I had to spend mine on school! ROFL DAMN YOU!!:mad::mad:

On the other hand congrats!!:p Oh and thanks for giving me the link for that cat-back. I really like it!! Hope everything is well back in AK.

But I did buy a new Mishimoto radiator...:sneaky:

Now about the topic... I would probably just get the 18g based on the fact that if you were to try and upgrade to it later... it would be pointless. But if you are going from the stock turbo, people say they are much happier going to the 18g becasue it still has a relatively quick spool time and has a great potential!!! If the E3 16G is back-ordered for an undetermined period of time, I would ask how much they are offereing the 18G at and also check the price of that compared to the group buy and I would say depending on the price they give you, go for it!

I'm very sorry we weren't able to track down one of these guys for you :( As I'm sure you know we pride ourselves on our vast distribution network and being able to get just about anything, but this is one of those cases in which there is simply no availability based on a backorder from MHI. Let us know how you would like to move forward and we will do what we can to make it up to you!

I say that, if you have the prerequisite support for the 18G, and that isn`t on back order as well, it makes sense to go for it as it will yield better results for you. The difference in the spool rate is very minor and you have far more potential.

Ah, another backorder. This happened to me last year. Punishment Racing were the only people that had them. They gave me a brand new one set up to run external gate. :thumb:

I hope i am not breaking any rules here!
I do know who has them but they are not a vendor on this site!
I am not trying to make anyone mad or get anyone upset just trying to help!
Yes they are Genuine MHI 49178-01470 EVO III Turbochargers!
They have the stock Flapper valve and need to be ported!
PM me if you are intrested!

just my $.02
