i had bought an already built 92 tsi. the coils were relocated to the driverside fire wall and now i'm in need of new plug wires...how should i go about getting new wires when they're not the stock length anymore?

Or if you can't spend that much, get the longest wire you have and take it somewhere and measure it against their universal wire kits and make sure they are long enough. You will a lot more slack with the closer cylinders, but it will work.

I'm guessing they relocated the coils to help keep them a little cooler, but you might just want to put the coils back where they were so you don"t have to buy some cheap universal kit from the local parts store. If you do go that route, at least go with something like msd or accel and then you could make the wires the length you need.

You can try contacting whoever your thinking of buying them from and ask them for the lengths, if they are reputable and want to sell them to you they should be more than willing to help you out.

My friend's 92 tsi had a bad hesitation for a while and the 10.4's cleared it up. i have a similar hesitation and it very's depending on boost and rpm...i ohmed the wires and the worst one is 115 ohms, spec is 1,800 for the longest wire...but the coil primary is 1.6 ohms and spec is .8 max. should i try replacing the coil? oh and just so everyone knows, i i'm boost leak tested to 30 psi so it's not that

Buy the JMFab Coil Pack relocation kit. You car doesn't have A/C so you can put it down below the intake manifold.... That way you can buy regular wires with out having to make your own if your not comfortable...
