Still attempting to fix my idle surge and I need some solutions. I cleaned out the throttle body. About 50 minutes ago, I replaced the idle air control valve/sensor. It seemed different, but it was still surging. Someone told me it could take for up to a week for the ECU to recognize the new valve and idle normally? It idles between 1100-1250 RPMS. When I first put the valve in, I'd pull up to a light and it would surge twice and then idle normally. Then, after driving it for a bit, it started to surge again. Could it be fixed, just not driven enough yet? Also, if anyone has any other suggestions on how to fix this, I'd appreciate it. I heard if one of the duel injectors was clogged or something, it would cause this. So I checked the spark plugs and they were all the same color, so I dont think that's the case.

Good luck fighting this, I've fought it ever since I bought my car in 01. I've even removed the entire lower portion of the tb and it still surged. I'm also on AEM, so its not a boost leak causing it. Most likely its the fiav, which I've never blocked off and let the isc do all the work. JMFab sells a block off plate, thats a cheap way of checking it. Again......GOOD LUCK

Oh, forgot to mention. I also replaced the throttle position sensor about a month ago, so i can eliminate that. What would blocking off the fiav do/find out?

By ISC do you mean the idle air control valve? The thing that has two screws that holds it into the throttle body?

Yeah, I looked at the picture of what they are selling on their site. It's exactly what I replaced. So I guess NAPA just calls it something differently.

Heres an update on what happens:

I will get to a light, itll idle surge once or twice, and then idle normally. Itll do that for awhile, and then just start surging again. I will turn the car off, and it'll surge once or twice and then balance out again. Is this unusual or what?

Not yet. That'll be my next fix. Ever since the ISC set in after 10 miles or so, the surging seems to be 500% better. It will maybe only do one surge when i stop at a light and then be fine for a while ago. I also turned the idle from 1250 to 700 and it seemed to like that.
