question concerning speed sensor on a 2G GST

I was wondering what could be wrong with my tranny its an automatic 2g GST the speed sensor is fine but for some reason the tranny wont spin the speed sensor. any one have any ideas what it could be.

How do you know the speed sensor is fine?

I used a drill to spin it up when it was out of the car it spun the speedometer up so its good.
