hi every1

I just finished a 6-bolt swap for my 99 GS using the 1G ECU. I have an EPROM chip for my 2G MAF which has some launch control. I noticed my speedometer doesn't work thus I get fuel cut @ 5000 RPM while driving (launch control activated). It seems that the ECU doesn't understand that the car is moving. That really sucks so I was wondering if the signal from the 2g Speed sensor is compatible with the 1G ECU. My tranny is F5M31-2-ZVZT (btw if anyone has info on this one will appreciate it - how much power can it handle etc.)

i'm having the same problem with my 1g right now. yet i'm using dsmlink so i can turn off my launch control and place a rev limit above 7k. but know what's the use of running dsmlink and i can use it's best features.

i would also like an answer to this.

to answer part of your question, the 1g ecu requires the speed signal from the cluster. the cluster is driven from a speed cable. so 1g's are cable while 2g's are electrical driven.

as to wiring them, i'm still trying to figure this out for my 1g.

I checked my wirings again and found a wire that wsn't connected. Now everything works fine. So I can clearly say that the signals are compatible. Also now I have Ostrich and I can change the stutterbox RPMs.

Thank you for replying though.

And what exactly is your question?

Why don't you just fix your speedometer? It's either the cable or the speedo itself that is bad. The guy that started the thread is talking about a 2g which has a sensor with wires not a cable; totally different setup.
