My car has an inconsistent clutch pedal pressure. Some days, it will be easy to push, other days, it will be very stiff. It does have a point towards the bottom where it gets very stiff (1-2"). What could be the problem here? I have tried searching already.

Another easy thing to check would be your fluid. Try bleeding it and seeing if that helps. Clutch fluid is basically incompressible, air, however, is not. When you get air in the lines it can cause a shifting engagement point because air expands and contracts based on the pressure exerted on it by the fluid as well as ambient temp.

I had a 95 gs that started giving me the same problem, turned out it was the seals on the clutch slave , the increased pressure from a new clutch slave shortly caused the clutch master to fail. After replacing both it was like a new car.

In short. for the cost ~$100 in parts (another 50 for a good vacuum bleeder and fluid and a flare nut wrench), and the time ~4hrs for the DIY'r its worth it to replace both put in 100% new synthetic brake fluid and vacuum bleed the system. Trust me.

I would start by looking around the master and the slave cylinder for possible fluid leaks also there is a rubber line on the passenger side of the vechile that could also be leaking/ allowing air in. If no leaks are found then I would bleed the system as air may have gotten in there as posted above.

You very well may have air in the line, bleeding it with some fresh fluid certainly wouldn't hurt. Honestly I think you probably just adjusted it to engage too high still. How much free play do you have at the top? Did you move the upper pedal stop at all?

Well, the clutch started slipping last week. So I adjusted the rod so that the clutch would engage lower. It hasn't had any slipping problems since then. Just inconsistent pressure. It seems like 2-3 inches off the floor before it engages. And about 3-4 inches of engagement. I didn't touch the upper stop. I'll try bleeding it this weekend. (do you know where i can find a how to for bleeding it?) I'm guessing I just open the valve under the car that is attached to the transmission/master cylinder, and bleed it like bleeding brakes?
