I just picked up a 16g off Ebay. At least I think it's a 16g. numbers are 020311112 and 49178-01420

anyway I bought it without the Exhaust housing. What are my options now? Also there is a seal right behind the exhaust side turbine that is a little loose. if it moves out of place it can rub on the exhaust turbine. Turbo is in excellent shape very minimal shaft play. Any Ideas? Thanks
Isaac

Does it say TD05H on the compressor housing? If so then you know that you have at least the right line of turbos. For better identification we would need to see a picture but the way you tell is to look inside of the turbo inlet, if all the blades are the same then it is a 14b, if you have two different types of blades it is a 16g. Exhaust housings are cheap, you can pick them up on ebay or the classifieds. As for the seal, you'll have to wait for someone who knows a bit more about the insides.

That is a big 16g.

About the "seal", I think you are just referring to the dust shield on the turbine side. That will be clamped down and not move whenever you finally assemble the turbo with the exhaust side.

T25 won't work, the turbine is different and the tdo5h(?) wheel being bigger, won't physically fit. A 14b housing will though. I really like my big 16g, spools up nice and fast and has a lot of power, even with a chewed up turbine.

I have heard that porting weakens the material but thats just from reading this and does seem to have a partial truth. Start going through the Site sponsors (the vendors). I know MachV.com sells an 8cm housing. You would never need to port that and probably never outgrow it either. Let me find some links for you.

Turbochargers

Theres the 7cm and the 8cm on the same page. The 7cm is what normally comes on the turbo. Slightly pricey but you get what you pay for.

So this item I found on E bay is what I need?

I couldnt see the image you posted. My computer blocked the cookies that would have allowed for me to view. Do not get a 6cm housing. Get at least a 7cm or larger. Forced Performance and MachV both have what you need but for the same price you could get the 8cm steel housing with the Bell Ported turbine outlet. If you did buy the 8cm for the same price as the 7cm then whats the need for porting/polishing?

No, that's an o2 housing. You need a TURBINE housing.

If you were in the market for a 16G to replace your T25, you really should've tried to find a complete turbo. This would've been a deal if you had a blown 16G and you were looking for a complete replacement center housing; now you're left to track down more parts, costing you more time and hassle.
