So i bought a 90 1G talon tsi.. from a co worker with a blown head i replaced the head and now the car wont start it cranks over but no spark, it does have fuel. i opened the ECU and found small leakage from the Caps, but it does turn cel light on for 5 secs and the boost gauge goes to 0. I've been reading the the temp sensor could cause it not to start and etc. Any help would be nice.

Sometimes the wires on the coolant temps sensor plug get brittle and will break. This will cause a no start but it will NOT cause the car to loose spark. I would start with the ECU since its leaking and then move on to things like the coil pack, power transistor, and CAS.

I took the CAS of and put the key on and rotated the blade and it fires the injectors so im guessing thats not the problem. I hate to have to change the ECU because its a little pricey, my roommate has a 91 tsi. but i would have to cut wires and plugs to make it work for test purposes right?

did you plug in your transistor on the side of your engine also the plug on the coil ,bacause you had to disconnect it to get the head of .

im fairly sure i plugged in everything, but do you have a picture of where the transistor is? or more detail on the location. thanks.

EDIT: i found it, its right below the coil plug correct? and its plugged in
