i can't seem to find any external wastegated for the stock turbo... is it not popular for some reason? i don't mind the fast spooling of the t25 and don't plan on going big with my car so i was just wondering if they exist or how hard would it be to flange up a manifold with an external wg for a diff turbo?

My question would be why do you want to run a external wastegate on a stock turbo? You shouldn't be having boost problems on a stock t25. Are you looking to dump to the atmosphere? If so you can get a o2 dump which will be much cheaper and will sound like a external wastegate dump. And to answer your question yes they do sell manifolds that will bolt up to the stock turbo. One example being HAFE mani.

Are you looking for just the sound?

You can weld a flange on the stock manifold, but why would you. The T25 can't even blow that much air to blow your internal WG open. Money can't be spent other ways.:thumb:

But hey if you WANT to weld a flange on the stock manifold or get an O2 housing with a flange for a WG.

It is not popular because the turbo blows is very inefficient and blows hot air above 17psi. You'll also notice that if you set your boost to 17psi on the T25, by redline you'll be down to 11-12psi.

If you want to run an external gate and keep the same fast spooling characteristics of the T25, look into a Big T28 from FP and if you use an internal wastegate use their 17psi actuator.

If you want to run your stock turbo instead of the T28 and want it to hold boost, just get FP's 17 psi actuator instead of thinking about an external wastegate. I hope you understand that with the 17psi actuator, you cannot run boost lower than 17psi since that is your spring pressure in the actuator.
